I'll look on Newegg tonight at mobo's. I won't buy anything till I post it here as you guys are my tech/purchase support!

I really need to get this back up and running as soon as I can though.

Gremmie...how much do you want for that mobo? lol (seriously)

Dino, PM me (or message me on FB) and I'll send it to you.

Of course I can't guarantee it will work as it might have gone bad on me. I really don't know for sure what broke in my system.

Edit: I probably can't send it out until next Monday at the earliest. I'll want to have it on hand if I need to troubleshoot my new build.

Dino it could be a power supply issue. Bestbuy carries them and I think they're pretty lenient on returning them if they don't work out for you. On your motherboard, have you looked to see if you have any blown capacitors or anything? Reseated your ram?

I have reseated everything multiple times. No change in outcome. I have looked over the MB and have seen nothing out of whack. I have went to Best Buy and Radio Shack and they both only carry up to a 500W power supply. If I'm gonna buy one...I'm going to buy what I currently have instead of something lower.

I replace the power supply. It did not fix it. I received a MB from Gremmie yesterday but didn't have time to swap it out yet. I'm going out of town for a couple days and when I return I'll swap out the MB's.

***EDIT***

Gremmie's mobo didn't work.

So I need a mobo and it doesn't look like to many options on Newegg.

This is what I had:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131781

Here are two that I guess will work:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... -_-Product

Which one should I purchase?

The cheaper one should do the job just fine. The differences between the 2 boards looks like it boils down to 2 different chipsets. The cheaper board doesn't have as many pcix 3.0 slots or sata 6gb connectors on the motherboard. So depending if your going to want to run dual video cards, a lot of hard drives/ssds/dvd drives, or just want the higher end chipset, the cheaper board should work just fine in my opinion. Either way it's an upgrade from the board you had as the previous one didn't support pcix 3.0 for the newer video cards.

So...I bought the more expensive one. It is installed and it started to freak me out...nothing was working at first. My mouse and keyboard would light up on post but then shut off after Windows started. After multiple restarts and driver installation of the mobo everything started working...one at a time. I haven't had a chance to do anything but that so far.

Did you initially try to run your previous Windows install? If so it probably won't like the new motherboard. You will have to reinstall Windows as that installs stuff specific to your hardware and motherboard.

Great to hear you are making progress!

I haven't really had a chance to mess with it. If I re-install Windows, will it erase what is on the hardrive? Because if it does...I have a lot of stuff to move/save else where. :(
